Outlook BCM - Error saving Linked Document

Issue:

When user attempts to save a Linked Document to Outlook BCM, they receive the error -2147483645 "This must be associated with a Business Contact, Account, Opportunity or Project before saving".

Cause:

The Journal folder specified in the Outlook Setup is an inaccessible folder type, such as the Communication History folder.

Solution:

Switch to either a shared public journal folder, like \Public Folder\All Folders\Public Journal Folder, or use the Personal Journal folder if the linked documents do not need to be accessed by all users.

Update 8/9/12:

The following fix is available in QuoteWerks 4.7 build 7.08i and higher:

-Fix: For Outlook BCM 2007 and 2010 users, "Error (-2147483645) This must be associated with a Business Contact, Account, Opportunity or Project before saving." This would happen when attempting to write a Journal Entry into the "Communication History" folder. Now, if the "Communication History" folder is selected as the Journal folder, only a file entry will be written to the history.
