Reports - Error (-2147217900) when previewing

Issue:

When attempting to preview a report, user receives:

Error opening recordset in ConnOpenRecordset():
Error (-2147217900) Extra ) in query expression

Followed by:

"An error (-2147217900) was found in the SQL expression used in the search."

Cause:

There is an extra parentheses or AND/OR value at the end of the Report Filter.

Solution:

All operators must be followed by a field. Edit the report by going to Reports -> Management Reports, selecting the report and clicking Edit. Then go to the Filter tab and either remove the extra operator or add the appropriate field below it.
