Are you using the most current release of QuoteWerks?
Version 24.0 Build 2
Issue:

When importing receive error "Error in GetImportFieldDefDataSource, iTextColElementIndex greater than number..."


Cause:

If a line of data in the text file was missing delimiters or data so that there was not exactly lets say 5 columns of expected data this error message would be displayed.

Solution:

Since this message is more of a warning, it was removed in newer builds of QuoteWerks 4.0. Upgrade to a build of QuoteWerks 4.0 higher than build 2.
