Print Layouts - Removing Characters from the Document Number

Question:
How do I remove the prefix or beginning characters from the document number on my print layout?

Solution:
1. In the print layout designer select the Insert-Formula Field menu
2. Name the formula something similar to ShortDocNo.
3. Insert the following formula:

LAST(DocumentHeaders->DocNo,(LEN(DocumentHeaders->DocNo)-1))

Notes
The number 1 at the end is the number of characters to remove. Therefore a user may remove as many characters as necessary.
