Are you using the most current release of QuoteWerks?
Version 24.0 Build 2
Issue:
You receive the Run-time error 521: Can't open Clipboard when trying to copy and paste in QuoteWerks.

QuoteWerks 4.0 Build 1 and higher can trap for this error preventing QuoteWerks from unexpectedly terminating.

QuoteWerks 3.0 Build 38 and higher can trap for this error preventing QuoteWerks from unexpectedly terminating. Unfortunately, QuoteWerks 3.0 Build 37 and lower will terminate when this error occurs.

Cause:
Another application may have exclusive rights to the clipboard such as a Microsoft Office Component or Trillian Chat.

Solution 1:
Try exiting out of all applications except for QuoteWerks.

In some cases it was found that Outlook was the cause of the problem. Even after Outlook was explicitly closed, it was found to still running when using the Task Manager (in Windows 2000). On the Processes tab of the Task Manager, clicking on the OUTLOOK.EXE process and choosing [END PROCESS] solved the problem.

Solution 2:
In a Microsoft Office application press Ctrl+C twice on the keyboard to bring up a Clipboard panel on the screen.

- Click Clear All to remove all information being held in the Clipboard.
- Click the Options button in the lower right corner and uncheck all options except for "Show Office Clipboard When Ctrl+C Pressed Twice"
- Close the Clipboard panel and attempt the process you were looking to perform in QuoteWerks.
