The Professional and Corporate Edition of QuoteWerks can link to salesforce.com product catalogs. This will save time for customer’s using salesforce.com that have invested time creating their product catalogs in salesforce.com.

In order for QuoteWerks to link to salesforce.com product catalogs, salesforce.com must be selected as your contact manager. You can select salesforce.com as your preferred contact manager through the Contacts -> Setup Contact Manager menu. In addition, you will need to supply your Login ID and password for salesforce.com. You can enter these on the Contact Manager tab of the Tools -> My Preferences menu. For more details on linking to salesforce.com, please see Contact-Management Integration.

Click on the [Next] button to move to the next step.

Step 5: In this window enter the name of the vendor whose products you will be storing in this data source. This vendor name will be used to refer to products when looking up products under the Product Lookup window.

You could also enter “door%” in the Description. If you wanted to see everything that ended with the word “door”, you would enter “%door”. If you wanted to see every item that contained the word “door” you would enter “%door%”.

Note:The first time QuoteWerks retrieves the salesforce.com product catalog, it caches it in memory so that QuoteWerks does not have to re-retrieve the product catalog from salesforce.com each time you run a search. If you have changed your salesforce.com product catalog while QuoteWerks is running you can press the F5 key while the grid has focus to have QuoteWerks re-retrieve the list of salesforce.com products.
