You may ask yourself "How will QuoteWerks work for our business?". QuoteWerks allows you to create a product database and track all types of information about your products, including volume pricing breaks, product categories, serial numbers, weight, along with many more including user-defined fields that you can setup to track whatever you need. Products can also be of a more advanced nature that involve units of measure and pricing for products that do not fall into the "1 of this item for this amount" category. All the products in the product database can be entered by you, or you can import the products if you already have them in some other format using our import wizard.

Once you have your product database put together, you can start quoting. If you use contact management software (we recommend it) like ACT!, GoldMine, KnowTia, Maximizer, MS CRM, Outlook, SalesLogix, or TeleMagic you can easily copy the contact information into QuoteWerks with a click of a button. Now that we have specified who the quote is for, let’s quote some products.

We will look products up in the product database that we setup earlier. To find the product that you are looking for, there are many search fields available for you to use to find the particular product you are looking for. Once you have found the product, you add it to your quote and specify quantities, and markup information. Markup can even be associated with specific customers, and that information can be stored in your contact manager. You can also use QuoteWerks' powerful bundling and configuration tools to automate adding groups of products to your quote. The Configurator will even take you step-by-step through a series of product choices. Once the product is in your quote, you can further modify any of the information about each line item including the markup. When the products are on your quote, you can see how much profit you are making on individual items, and on the entire quote. All the columns on the quote can be re-arranged in the order you prefer, and you can change the names of the columns to those you prefer.

This new quote is automatically linked to your contact manager's contact record, so you will never lose it. If you use ACT, GoldMine, MS CRM, or salesforce.com as your contact manager, QuoteWerks can also create forecasted sale records, call backs, and completed sale records. You can then use the contact manager's built-in reporting features to print reports that show you what quotes you have outstanding and when you are scheduled to follow up with the lead.  QuoteWerks also has it's own built-in reporting features.

Now, let’s print out the quote. You can choose from a list of pre-defined print layouts. The print layout can be customized from within QuoteWerks using a visual layout designer. Many types of documents can be printed, including quotes, invoices, sales orders, purchase orders, packing slips etc. When the customer decides to go with the quote, simply change the status of the quote to an invoice, and print it out. When you are ready to create purchase orders, QuoteWerks can print a separate purchase order automatically for each unique vendor on your quote.

Now that the quote has been converted to an order, you can use our QuickBooks, or Peachtree accounting link (included in the QuoteWerks Professional and Corporate Editions) to export the order to your accounting software without you having to re-type the order!
