Tech Data - FoxPro ODBC error with Quick Lookup

Issue:

When a Windows 7 user attempts to search for a Tech Data product using the Quick Lookup bar, they receive a FoxPro ODBC error followed by a 2147217900 Automation error. The normal Product Lookup works fine as does the indexing of Tech Data.

Cause:

The FoxPro driver installed with Windows 7 needs to be updated with the latest version.

Solution:

The latest driver can be obtained here:

The file you're looking for is the VFPODBC.MSI file from the bottom of the page. Before running it, you will first need to remove the existing FoxPro driver before installing the VFPODBC.MSI file. In order to do so, you'll need to run the CleanUp Utility provided by Microsoft:

The file is likely named Visual FoxPro ODBC Driver 1.0 in the list, it won't show up under Microsoft or just plain FoxPro. Once the existing FoxPro driver is removed, you can then run the VFPODBC.MSI to reinstall and the error should be resolved.
