Are you using the most current release of QuoteWerks?
Version 24.0 Build 2
Issue:

When performing various activities like choosing the FileOpen menu or ProductLookup menu, QuoteWerks terminates with a "Runtime Error 48 - Error in loading dll" message.

Cause:

This error indicates that you may have a corrupt MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) installation on your computer. Many computer programs, including QuoteWerks 4.0, require MDAC in order to run properly. QuoteWerks requires MDAC version 2.6 SP2 or higher.

Solution:

In most cases, you can simply download and install the latest MDAC version from Microsoft's website at:
http://www.microsoft.com.
