The evolution of QuoteWerks
QuoteWerks was designed from
the ground up by John Lewe the President and founder of Aspire
Technologies, Inc. Starting in 1993, he founded an IT consulting
company, and experienced first hand the challenges of the
industry and how time consuming it was to manually create sales
quotes. QuoteWerks was born from John's first hand experiences
as the owner of a consulting firm.
What started out as the need to
create a simple sales quote has evolved to meet the ever
changing needs of the IT industry. More and more companies are
now realizing how important the quote and proposal creation
process is. With QuoteWerks as a cornerstone of their sales
operations, they are seeing tremendous returns in efficiency,
accuracy, and sales closures.
Today, 17 years later,
QuoteWerks is used in over 101 countries by 57,000 users.

Backgrounder:
In 2005, ConnectWise recognized QuoteWerks as the
defacto quoting solution for the IT industry.
ConnectWise then wrote the "ConnectWise
QuoteWerks Integration" to provided a combined
solution for the IT managed services community. This was sold by ConnectWise for
about $800. Fast forward to 2009, the ConnectWise
Community demanded a better integrated solution to
meet their evolving needs. Enter the new QuoteWerks
built-in integration...

To address the needs of the
ConnectWise community on November 18th, 2009, we announced that our new
built-in ConnectWise integration would be released on February
18th, 2010. We are pleased to announce that we are able to
deliver this new integration in the version 4.5 interim build
2.09i at 1pm February 18th. If you are interested in
being one of the first to use this new integration, please
let us know. The ConnectWise integration is available in the
Corporate edition of QuoteWerks, so if you already have the
Corporate Edition and you are current on Maintenance, this is a
free update!
With ConnectWise opportunities,
you can breakdown the forecasted amount by Product, Service,
Managed Service, and Other. This enables you to quickly glance
at your opportunity to understand where your revenue is coming
from.
We received numerous requests from our ConnectWise users to
implement this in QuoteWerks. Due to your feedback, QuoteWerks
can now automatically feed into these individual ConnectWise
forecast types.
We set a delivery date and we met it! Phase 1
is complete and Phase 2 is already available. We want to receive your feedback on our new
integration to ensure that QuoteWerks development implements the
link in a way that will be most effective for you and the
thousands of other ConnectWise users.

QuoteWerks Version 4.5 Now
Available!
At the ConnectWise Partner Summit, people
stopped by our booth and asked, "It seems like QuoteWerks
version 4.0 has been out for a long time. When are you going
to release a new version?"
Great question. The version of QuoteWerks
that you saw at this year's 2009 ConnectWise Partner Summit
in November had
150 more features than the version you saw at the 2008
Summit.
On December 15, 2009,
QuoteWerks Version 4.5 was released.

We had a training class on Wednesday during
the 2009 Summit which covered many topics important to the
ConnectWise community. We know not everyone could attend as
it was first come first serve and filled up quickly. We
promise next year, we will have a larger class. We were able
to record the training and it is available for you to
view here on the ConnectWise Community page.
You can
download the commission report that we worked on in
the training class. This report splits commission
between hardware and service items.
